New Flyer has reported a spate of alt fuel and advance technology bus orders: LA Metro has exercised options for 350 compressed natural gas-fueled 40-foot buses, the manufacturer says, while Boston’s Massachusetts Bay Transport Authority has awarded a contract for as many as 90 heavy-duty 60-foot Xcelsior diesel-electric hybrid buses – 44 firm XDE60 vehicles valued at approximately $50 million with options for up to an 46 more valued at approximately $71 million.
