The trucks with Remy motors and Johnson Controls lithium batteries, and Allison transmissions, are available for both newly delivered and veteran vehicles.

Among six trucks delivered to Michigan’s Consumers Energy is the first-ever under-deck compressor vehicle with a Boss hydraulic lift and compressor, Odyne said Tuesday.

Allison Transmission said yesterday that it’s taken a non-controlling equity stake in heavy duty plug-in hybrid drive specialist Odyne, stating that the new relationship between “will benefit commercial hybrid trucks with urban drive cycles and high energy requirements while the vehicle is stationary… operators in vocations such as utility bucket trucks, digger derricks, cranes and other applications that require worksite stationary power.”

Waukesha, Wisc.-based Odyne Systems reports delivery of seven trucks with its plug-in hybrid propulsion system to utilities and municipalities in Wisconsin, noting that the vehicle buys were supported by the Wisconsin Clean Transportation Program jointly administered through the Wisconsin State Energy Office and the U.S. Department of Energy Wisconsin Clean Cities.

Chicago-based ComEd has taken delivery of the first digger derrick with Odyne plug-in hybrid propulsion system “that will lower fuel costs up to 50%, reduce emissions and help create a quiet, safe working environment with good work site communications,” Odyne said Saturday.
