Using Roush-Powered Blue Birds, STI Deploys Propane in St. Paul Too
As Washingtonville, N.Y. & Cleveland Schools Also Field Autogas Buses

School districts with 435 propane autogas-fueled Blue Bird school buses in the Omaha area are saving some $5,000 per day, operator Student Transportation, Inc. reports. STI also says that the first of 65 propane-powered Blue Birds, likewise with fuel systems from Roush CleanTech, will be delivered for the St. Paul Public Schools in Minnesota on Wednesday.

Omaha District LNG for Clean Energy

The board of Omaha’s Metropolitan Utilities District has approved a plan to sell liquefied natural gas from a 37-year-old peak shaving plant to Clean Energy Fuels (NASDAQ:CLNE), which will use it to fuel trucks.

As part of a 15-year contract, Clean Energy will invest as much as $2 million to build a truck loading facility –a truck rack – to open next year the District’s LNG facility. “Clean Energy will be the exclusive purchaser of LNG from this facility for transportation use within a 200-mile radius,” states a District release.
