Pacific Gas & Electric and Electric Vehicles International unveiled the California Energy Commission-backed REEV, and said that the Range Extended Electric Vehicle is the utility industry’s first-ever Class 5 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle.

NexDrive Hybrid Package Reduces Driveline Integration Costs

British Columbia-based Kinetics Drive Solutions has selected UQM Technologies to supply the motor and controller for a new integrated drivetrain. The new drive uses Kinetics’ NexDrive brand multi-speed transmission. It is aimed at medium and heavy-duty vehicles including electric buses, utility vehicles and delivery trucks. Kinetics is eyeing military markets too.

Supply Deal Covers All Walk-In Vans, Also Other Trucks

UQM Technologies said Tuesday that it’s reached a long-term supply agreement with Electric Vehicles International, extending their vehicle electrification relationship. UQM has supplied its Power Phase HD drivelines for approximately 100 EVI walk-in vans for UPS.
