General Distributors in Oregon City Is Counting Up the Savings

Seven months after converting ten cargo vans from gasoline to propane autogas-gasoline bi-fuel operation, Oregon’s General Distributors, Inc. reports that greenhouse gas emissions have been reduced by better than 20% while the company saved an estimated $10,000 in fuel costs, says vehicle upfitter and fuel provider Blue Star Gas.

Sheriff in North Carolina Runs Ten Cruisers on Propane

The Sheriff’s Office in Buncombe County, N.C., expects to save more than $13,000 per year – and is displacing 20 tons of greenhouse gas emissions – by running ten Ford Crown Victoria cruisers on propane autogas. Buncombe received funding under SPADP, the Southeast Propane Autogas Development Program, administered by Virginia Clean Cities.

Baltimore First for Veolia Propane

Veolia Transportation is adding 300 propane-gasoline bi-fuel taxis, beginning with 50 vehicles for Baltimore Yellow Cab (and Checker) and planning 250 more for Pittsburgh, Jacksonville and Denver by year-end.

The vehicles have Prins fuel systems, says David Finder of Alliance AutoGas, which now has 45 partner companies in 37 states.

Fyda for Alliance AutoGas Prins Upfits

Pennsylvania’s Fyda Energy Solutions has expanded its alternative fuel offerings to include propane autogas vehicle conversions, joining the Alliance AutoGas network as the newest certified conversion center, Alliance AutoGas reports. The Fyda Freightliner affiliate will tackle vehicles including police cruisers, taxis and cabs, and cargo vans.
