Propel Fuels report an exclusive three-year supply agreement with Franklin, Tenn.-based Eco-Energy for E85 ethanol. The pact “represents an important step in the maturing of the industry,” Propel says, “further enabling high blend renewable fuels to compete head-to-head with petroleum fuels.

$35 Million from the CEC

The California Energy Commission late last week unanimously approved $35 million worth of funding for “a diversity of alternative fuel and vehicle types,” paving the way for contracts to be signed.

The technologies being fostered will be necessary for the state to meet its own efficiency and greenhouse gas reduction goals, says Calstart president and CEO John Boesel, whose organization is the largest recipient.

Propel Fuels Looks Good as California Agency Proposes $17.3 Million for Alternative Fuels Infrastructure

Propel Fuels is in line for the lion’s share as the California Energy Commission has proposed $17.3 million worth of Alternative Fuels Infrastructure awards under its Alternative and Renewable Fuel & Vehicle Technology Program.

CEC has also proposed $1.1 million for biodiesel storage and blending facilities, and nearly $6.1 million for CNG and LNG fueling.
