Presentations by SeaHold, Harvest, and SoCalGas Itself
Information about the latest biomethane/renewable natural gas developments in California are available from Southern California Gas, which hosted a webinar on RNG, Securing California’s Clean Energy Future with Renewable Natural Gas, on November 20.
Speakers described how RNG can be used as a transportation fuel and to make electricity:
- Tom Hintz, senior/managing partner at SeaHold, LLC, gave an overview of RNG and highlighted strategies for successful project development;
- Wayne Bishop, senior project developer at Harvest Power, provided a case study of the company’s 660,000 diesel gallon equivalents per year biofuels project at an existing compost facility in Tulare, Calif.; and
- Jim Lucas, market development manager for the biofuels market development group at SoCalGas, discussed the market drivers and challenges to produce RNG and highlighted current waste-to-energy projects in California.
The webinar was organized by Fleets & Fuels publisher Gladstein, Neandross & Associates. GNA president Cliff Gladstein moderated.
