“Most important for our customers is the significant savings in fuel costs,” Spire president and parent Laclede Group senior VP Mike Spotanski said in a release.

$2 per GGE

“The Spire station near the airport is currently selling compressed natural gas for less than two dollars per gallon,” Spotanski said, “nearly a dollar less than gasoline. That’s an advantage you just can’t ignore.”

The station is sited on approximately one acre of the Super Park Lot C facility at I-70 and Cypress Road. It is open 24 hours a day, Spire says, “initially fueling 160 fleet vehicles already on the road with capacity to accommodate a growing local and regional need.” It is also open to consumers.

“We can accommodate anything from a passenger vehicle to a Class 8 truck as our driving and fuel lanes are designed to meet the turnaround radius and canopy clearance for those vehicles,” the company says.

Twin 500 scfm Compressors

The Spire station features two 500 standard cubic feet per minute compressors.
