Seven Transit Providers to Deploy Battery & Fuel Cell Buses

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Transit Administration yesterday announced $22.5 million worth of awards for its Low and No-Emission Vehicle Deployment initiative, aka Lo-No. Seven transit providers in five states will receive money to help pay for “buses and related facilities that utilize battery-electric, fuel cell, and other innovative technologies to reduce harmful greenhouse gas emissions and improve operating efficiency,” FTA says. updated April 20

The Utah Transit Authority has opened a new compressed natural gas fueling facility for an expanding fleet of CNG buses – “part of UTA’s continuing effort to improve air quality along the Wasatch Front.”
