The new, California Energy Commission-funded San Joaquin Valley Clean Transportation Center is to “provide technical assistance, project development expertise, and support with acquiring funding for San Joaquin Valley vehicle fleet owners, local governments, businesses, and residents,” Calstart said today.

$500,000 Demonstration Project Funded by Valley Air District

Poway, Calif.-based Transportation Power, Inc. says it will demonstrate onboard inverter-charger units “that simplify and accelerate battery charging” in all-electric yard tractors. TransPower’s 100% electric vehicle will replace diesel rigs currently used by Ikea at its distribution center in Tejon, Calif.

Grant Would Bridge Biogas and Small-Scale LNG Production,
Goal Is 10,000 LNG Gallons Per Day for Less than $20 Million

Salt Lake City-based Ruby Mountain is working to bridge economical biogas and small-scale liquefaction technologies with an eye to being able to produce, two to three years from now, about 10,000 gallons of LNG per day for a capital cost now estimated at just $12 million to $20 million.
