Mississippi Operation to Fuel Kenworth Mixers with Modular PFS

TruStar Energy – formerly Vocational Energy – has introduced its new portable fueling system for compressed natural gas in Jackson, Miss., where the unit is supporting a new fleet of a dozen Kenworth concrete mixers operated by MMC Materials.

White Plains, N.Y.-based Fortistar reports the acquisition of Vocational Energy and says it’s set up a new affiliate, TruStar Energy, for compressed natural gas infrastructure and long-term fuel supply agreements.

Kenworth Trucks with Vocational Energy for Fueling

Indianapolis-based Monarch Beverage is talking up a $6.7 million project to convert 85% of its fleet to compressed natural gas, tapping Vocational Energy to build an on-site fueling station. Monarch has been testing a Kenworth T660 with the new ISX12 G engine from Cummins Westport for more than a year, and is expected to take delivery of ISX12 G-powered T800s in 2013.

Contract to Build CNG Station in Tampa as Freightliner M2s Added

Vocational Energy is teaming with the beverage distributor J.J. Taylor to build a large compressed natural gas fueling station in Tampa. Taylor is taking delivery of 43 CNG-fueled Freightliner M2-112 tractors, and is to add 48 more by 2014, Vocational says.

EcoDual Conversions to Play a Role with Akron-Based Hauler

Ohio’s J. Rayl Transport is looking to switch its fleet of some 200 trucks to compressed natural gas, beginning with about 75 vehicles including an unspecified number of conversions to dual fuel operation.
