Seattle Firm Emphases Norm-Breaking Natural Gas Vehicles

An order for highly specialized Cadillac limousines, compressed natural gas-fueled, for luxury transport in Las Vegas has helped World CNG re-define itself as a provider of custom natural gas vehicles that aren’t available anywhere else. Liquefied natural gas trucks in Washington State constitute another key example.

California-Approved Chrysler Van with 3.6-Liter Engine

World CNG is unveiling its California Air Resources Board-certified Chrysler Ram Promaster van with 3.6-liter Pentastar engine at ACT Expo. The dedicated-compressed natural gas conversion features direct reprogramming of the factory engine control unit, simplifying the conversion process as no extra ECU is needed.

Seattle’s World CNG is talking up a new dedicated-compressed natural gas Ford F-550 with a crane service body. The vehicle has a single-fill range of up to 350 miles “and outperforms the gasoline model at near-maximum loads of 19,500 pounds,” World CNG says.

Chicago Paratransit ‘On the Cusp’ of Ordering Hundreds

Chicago’s SCR Medical Transportation has ordered 11 Chrysler Dodge Grand Caravans from World CNG, and according to SCR general manager Dave Daley is “on the cusp” of ordering as many as 240 more.

Go Group Members Like Gaseous Fuels

The Go Group, which claims to be the world’s largest airport shuttle provider, says that while the shared-ride transportation it provides “is inherently eco-friendly,” some of its member companies are going further by investing in alternative fuels.

Go Shuttle Express in Seattle has 43 propane-fueled vehicles, the parent firm says. Go Shuttle Express has both dedicated-propane vans with Roush Cleantech systems, and bi-fuel vans with Icom North America systems installed by Seattle-based World CNG.
