Complete Coach Works reports an upgrade to the lithium ion battery packs for its ZEPS/zero emission propulsion system for refurbished transit buses – to 365 kilowatts-hours from the initial 311 kilowatt-hours.

The City of Gardena (Los Angeles) is taking advantage of a $2.7 million award by the California Energy Commission to deploy and gather data on five 100% battery electric buses in disadvantaged areas. One of the GTrans agency’s 40-foot New Flyer low-floor buses has already been converted by Complete Coach Works and four others are in line. updated October 21

Complete Coach Works Installs All-Battery Drives
In Decade-Old Gillig Vehicles for Service in Indiana

The Indianapolis Public Transportation Corp – IndyGo – has purchased 21 used Gillig buses to be fitted with 100% battery electric drives by Complete Coach Works in Southern California. The all-electric ZEPS – zero emission propulsion system – buses will cost about $500,000 apiece, about half the price of a new battery bus, says IndyGo fleet manager Vicki Learn.
