‘Insight 2.0’ Package for Improved Vehicle Uptime, Cost of Ownership
Hino Trucks is stepping up its collaboration with Telogis, and beginning this summer will offer the next-generation Hino Insight 2.0 telematics package not only on its Hino 195h and 195h-DC hybrid electric models for 2015 – for which it’s standard – but as an option on its full conventional truck product lineup.
The Insight 2.0 package includes route optimization, real-time work order management, truck-specific navigation, telematics and mobile integration services.
Telogis combines computing, communications and GPS technologies to provide better information to vehicle operators.
New Functionality and ‘a Refined User Interface’
“The updated platform will help customers save money, increase safety and improve operations by providing the mission-critical information they require to optimize their fleets,” Hino says.
“Telogis’ significant investments in R&D and product innovation plus its experience in the OEM environment make them the standard for excellence in the connected services industry,” Ellis says in Hino’s Insight 2.0 announcement.
“Telogis partnered with Hino to provide new and existing customers with exclusive connectivity and services that can only be achieved through this kind of integrated partnership with the manufacturer,” said Telogis executive worldwide sales VP Susan Heystee.
According to Hino marketing, dealer operations and product planning VP Glenn Ellis, “This next-generation technology brings new functionality, a refined user interface and a robust platform to support the needs of our largest fleet customer or an individual owner-operator.”
“Customers now have one of the easiest paths to advanced solutions that help them maximize uptime and enhance the safety, productivity and environmental impact of their fleets.”
Via a unique dashboard, Hino Insight 2.0 provides fleet manager customers a daily snapshot of their vehicles’ critical diagnostics status and performance against established targets. They can access key metrics and real-time vehicle and driver-related information simultaneously.
The cloud-based Insight 2.0, Hino says “supplies a level of real-time and organized historical data that was previously unimaginable.”
